Who am I? My name is Brooke Griffiths, and I’m a journalist, small-business owner, and activist in Forsyth County, GA. But more importantly, I’m also a wife, mother, and brain tumor survivor. And those experiences have made me fiercely focused on issues that impact families in Senate District 27 – especially our women and children.
Expanding affordable healthcare
Fully funding public schools
Common-sense gun safety
And protecting women’s bodily autonomy
I grew up in Louisville, KY, received a journalism degree from the University of Kentucky, and have spent more than 20 years as a newspaper editor turned media designer.
An active member of my county Democratic Committee, I also work to recruit and train other local candidates. In 2017, I co-founded a vibrant, progressive grassroots organization focused on connecting like-minded community members through both social and activist engagement. I have taken the lead on much of our election-focused efforts – training and leading voter registration teams, organizing canvassing training and events, coordinating volunteers for local, state, and federal campaigns – as well as liaising with the local Democratic structure.
As a future member of the Georgia legislature, I vow to keep the best interests of Forsyth's residents – people of every background and every belief system – at heart. I will work to protect their schools, their healthcare, and their rights at every turn.
